Dr. Maxime H. A. Larivé is an expert in European and Transatlantic Studies. His research focuses on the European Union as a global security actor. He has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals, like European Security, and renowned international magazines like the National Interest and World Politics Review. His recently published book with Ashgate, titled Debating European Security and Defense Policy. Understanding the Complexity, looks at the evolution of the Common Security and Defense Policy.
Maxime writes for Foreign Policy Association’s Blog and US News and World Report on transatlantic and US foreign policy questions. He graduated with his Ph.D. from the Department of International Studies at the University of Miami in 2012 and worked as a Jean Monnet post-doctoral Fellow at the EU Center of Excellence at the University of Miami from 2012-2013.
